Cookie Policy

Last updated: August 30, 2026

This page explains the cookies and similar technologies Stacks uses, why we use them, and how you stay in control. The short version: essential cookies keep the site working, and — only with your OK — Google Analytics helps us see what's useful. We never run advertising cookies and never sell your data.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Some are strictly necessary to make a site work (for example, to keep you logged in); others are optional and help the site owner understand how the site is used. We also use your browser's local storage to remember your cookie choice so we don't have to ask again on every visit.

2. Cookies we use

Essential cookies are always on — the site can't function without them, and privacy law does not require consent for them. Analytics cookies are optional and controlled by your consent, described below.

3. Analytics and your consent

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages and features are helpful so we can improve Stacks. It tells us things like which guides get read and where visitors come from — never who you are individually. We use Google's Consent Mode to respect your choice, and how we ask depends on where you are:

Either way, you're in control. To change your mind at any time, click "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page and choose Accept or Decline. Your choice is remembered on this device.

4. What we don't do

5. Managing cookies in your browser

Beyond our banner, you can control cookies directly in your browser — block or delete them, or browse privately. Most browsers explain how in their help pages (look for "cookies" or "site data" in settings). Note that blocking essential cookies may stop parts of Stacks from working, such as staying logged in. We also honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as an opt-out of analytics where applicable.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as our tools or the services we rely on change. We'll post updates here with a new "Last updated" date.
