How to turn on AI features in Stacks

Stacks builds AI right into the tools you already use — it can draft a reply to a customer review, write a follow-up email, turn a sentence into an invoice, score a lead, and more. Free workspaces receive 50 one-time AI credits. AI Pro provides a separate 50-credit monthly pool. Unused Free credits remain available if you later return to Free; they never refill.

Before you start

• Free includes 50 one-time AI credits for the workspace. Upgrade to AI Pro for its separate monthly pool and priority support when you need it.
• Only an admin — someone who can manage billing — can upgrade the account to AI Pro.
• Available AI credits are shared across supported features. Credits are shared across your whole account, and each AI action checks the permissions required for its data and operation.

Step by step

1. Find the AI buttons. AI lives inside the modules, marked with a sparkle — for example ✨ Draft with AI on a customer review or a contact, or the AI helpers when you create an invoice or an email campaign. Free workspaces can use their one-time credits with the same buttons.
2. Upgrade when you need a monthly allowance. Go to Settings → Billing → Plans, when you want AI Pro. This step is optional while Free credits remain.
3. Optional: subscribe to AI Pro. Complete checkout for the AI Pro plan — payment is handled securely by Stripe, so Stacks never touches your card details. That subscription provides the monthly AI pool across every module; there's no per-feature toggle to hunt for.
4. Use any AI button. Head back to where you started and click the AI button. Drafting features return text for you to review and edit. Some structured features, such as lead scoring, save their result. Sending is a separate action governed by the account's permissions and workflow settings.
5. Each successful AI generation uses one credit. Check the credit display for remaining allowance. Confirmed failures release their reservation; an uncertain outcome may remain reserved for review.

What AI can do once it's on

• Reviews. Draft a warm, sentiment-aware reply to a customer's private feedback, and mine your feedback into recurring themes.
• CRM. Draft a follow-up, summarize a contact's history, or suggest the next best step — plus AI lead scoring (a 0–100 score with plain-English reasons) and AI column-matching on CSV import.
• Invoicing. Turn a plain sentence ("3 hrs plumbing at $95/hr plus a $40 service call") into invoice line items, and ask your books questions in plain English.
• Scheduling. Get a meeting-prep brief, a warm reschedule message, or a friendly no-show follow-up for any appointment.
• Email. Draft a campaign from a one-line brief and generate subject-line variants.

Good to know

• Review generated content. Drafting and scoring have different outcomes. An activated workflow may perform its configured actions automatically; API-triggered workflows retain the initiating key's restrictions.
• Confirmed failures release their reservation. Successful generations spend credits. If a request stops before its outcome is known, the reservation stays held for review.
• Two separate pools. Pro credits refresh on the 1st UTC and do not roll over. Free credits are a one-time allocation and never refill.
• AI processes selected context. When you run an AI feature, the relevant text is sent to Anthropic for generation. Stacks checks permissions and filters recognized card-number, US Social Security number and credential patterns first. Pattern filters cannot detect every secret; names, notes and other relevant text may still be included. Some features also filter contact emails and phone numbers.
• Cancel anytime. Manage or cancel AI Pro from Settings → Billing. After Pro ends, you can use any unused original Free credits. Core records and Free access remain.
