Keep your clients and follow-ups organized from ChatGPT
Status: The Stacks plugin for ChatGPT is in preparation. It is not yet listed in the ChatGPT directory, no release date is promised, and hosted-client compatibility is unverified until a real connection is tested. When available, it connects one workspace per connection as the member who approves it, on any Stacks plan including Free.
Your core CRM stays free as your business grows. The plugin connects ChatGPT to one Stacks workspace as the member who approves it, with that member's role and the scopes they grant. It is built for independent consultants and service freelancers who already work in ChatGPT and keep prospects in notes or a spreadsheet.
Three jobs it is built to do well
- Capture a lead and the next step. "Add Avery Lead at Example Studio and remind me to follow up next Tuesday." ChatGPT searches first, asks when more than one record matches, creates the contact and company with a retry key so a repeated request does not duplicate them, schedules the follow-up on a calendar date in your workspace timezone and reads both back.
- Brief me before a call. "Brief me on Avery before our call." The brief comes from the record only: company, open deals and tasks with dates. Sections the connection cannot see are named, never invented.
- Close the loop. "Mark the Avery follow-up done and add the next action for Friday." The task is completed as an action (a repeat is safe), the next task is created with a retry key and both are read back.
These three are starters, not a limit. Every Stacks business command the connection's scopes allow is available: contacts, companies, deals, tasks and pipelines; invoices, products, payments and financial reports; support tickets; appointment and availability reads; review requests; workflow triggers.
Who can connect, and what it costs
- Any member of a Stacks workspace on any plan, including Free. One workspace per connection; reconnect to switch.
- Stacks core is free with unlimited users and contacts. AI Pro is a separate optional subscription and is not required for the connection.
- ChatGPT plan requirements are OpenAI's. Stacks does not promise unlimited ChatGPT use.
- API usage is metered in weighted units against a monthly allowance per plan: 5,000 on Free and 50,000 on AI Pro per UTC calendar month. Once a workspace is above its allowance, charged calls answer 429 usage_limit until the 1st; usage inspection, discovery and idempotent replays are not charged. Technical request and resource limits still apply.
Permissions, approvals and revoking access
- Consent screen. You choose the modules ChatGPT may use, whether it may create and change records, and whether it may request customer-facing sends. Tools outside the approved scopes are not shown to ChatGPT.
- Your role applies. A viewer cannot write through the connection; only members allowed to send can request emails, texts, invoices or review requests, and those follow the workspace approval policy. Pending approval is not a sent message.
- Destructive actions are confirmed. Deleting a contact, company or product is one record at a time; ChatGPT confirms the exact record first. Bulk deletion is refused.
- Disconnect any time. Members disconnect their own connection under Connected apps; administrators see and revoke every member's connection under Settings → API → Connected apps. Disconnecting closes that connection's pending approvals and queued workflow runs, and the next request is refused.
- Not available through the connection. Email marketing campaigns, booking or rescheduling appointments, customer replies on support tickets, other workspaces, workspace settings, billing and API key management.

Questions about the ChatGPT plugin
Is the Stacks plugin for ChatGPT available now?
Not yet. It is prepared and tested locally but is not listed in the ChatGPT directory, and no release date is promised. This page will change when a real connection has been verified and the listing is live.
Does it cost anything?
Stacks core is free, including the connection, with unlimited users and contacts. ChatGPT plan requirements are set by OpenAI and are separate. Connection requests count toward your workspace API unit allowance per month; AI Pro is a separate optional Stacks subscription.
Can ChatGPT see everything in my workspace?
No. A connection is to one workspace and acts as the member who approved it, with that member's role and only the scopes approved on the consent screen. Tools outside those scopes are not shown to ChatGPT at all.
Can ChatGPT email my customers?
Only if the member allowed sending and the workspace approval policy permits it. A request to email, text, invoice or ask for a review returns pending approval unless the policy is automatic; pending is not a sent message. Campaign email is not available through the connection.
How do I disconnect?
Open Connected apps in your workspace and disconnect the connection; administrators can revoke any member's connection under Settings, API, Connected apps. The next request from ChatGPT is refused and the connection's pending approvals and queued runs are closed.
