Connect ChatGPT to your workspace

Work in your Stacks workspace from ChatGPT: capture leads, schedule follow-ups, brief yourself before a call and close the loop on tasks. The plugin is in preparation and not yet listed in the ChatGPT directory; this guide describes the connection as built and tested locally.

Is it available yet?

Not yet. The Stacks plugin for ChatGPT is prepared and tested locally but is not listed in the ChatGPT directory and no release date is promised. When it is listed, this guide and the integration page will say so; until then nothing here is a promise of availability.

Who can connect?

Any member of a Stacks workspace on any plan, including Free. A connection is to exactly one workspace and acts as the member who approved it, with that member’s role: a viewer cannot write, and only members allowed to send can request customer-facing emails, texts, invoices or review requests. ChatGPT plan requirements are set by OpenAI and are separate from Stacks.

Connect your workspace

When the plugin is available: add Stacks in ChatGPT, sign in to Stacks, choose the workspace, review the scopes on the consent screen (which modules, whether ChatGPT may create and change records, whether it may send customer-facing messages) and approve. Approve only the scopes you want ChatGPT to have; you can disconnect at any time.

Run your first job

Start with one prospect: ask ChatGPT to add the person and company and remind you to follow up on a specific day. ChatGPT searches first, asks when a record is ambiguous, creates the contact with a retry key so a repeated request does not duplicate it, schedules the follow-up on a calendar date in your workspace timezone and reads both back. The job is complete when the contact and one open task appear in Stacks, not when ChatGPT says it sent the request.

What ChatGPT can and cannot do

Every Stacks business command the connection’s scopes allow is available: contacts, companies, deals, tasks and pipelines; invoices, products, payments and financial reports; support tickets; appointment and availability reads; review requests; workflow triggers. Not available through the connection: email marketing campaigns, booking or rescheduling appointments, customer replies on tickets, other workspaces, workspace settings, billing and API key management.

Approvals for customer-facing sends

A send request (email, SMS, invoice, review request) follows your workspace approval policy. Pending approval means a member must approve it in Stacks; it is not a sent message. Deleting a contact, company or product is one record at a time and ChatGPT confirms first.

Disconnect or revoke

Open Connected apps in your workspace to see your own connections and disconnect one. Administrators see every member’s connections under Settings, API, Connected apps and can revoke them. Disconnecting stops the connection immediately: its pending approvals and queued workflow runs are closed, and the next request from ChatGPT is refused.

Usage and limits

Connection requests count toward the workspace API unit allowance per UTC month shown in Settings, API; ChatGPT can read the remaining units. Hosted AI credits in Stacks are separate. If you need help, use Request help from Stacks.
