Connect an email provider
Connect one of 3 email providers: Brevo, Resend or SendGrid. Your default provider sends campaigns and transactional workspace messages.
Which email providers can you connect?
An administrator can connect Brevo, Resend or SendGrid. Create a provider account and verify your sending address or domain using that provider’s instructions. Check its current prices and sending limits directly; Stacks does not set those limits.
Connect
Choose Connect on the provider card. Enter its API key, verified From email and From name, plus any requested webhook signing secret. Save & connect stores encrypted credentials and selects the default sender. A saved connection alone does not prove sending works.
How do you check email delivery?
Send a test from this page and check its result and the receiving inbox. Provider acceptance is not inbox delivery. Follow any setup warning or manual webhook instructions; bounce and complaint suppression needs correctly configured, authenticated event tracking.
How do you get opens, clicks and bounces back from your provider?
Your provider has to post events to this workspace, which is called event tracking. Each provider card in Settings → Email states whether tracking is on or off and shows the exact address that workspace receives events at, including its account number. With tracking on, campaign pages show delivered, opened, clicked, bounced and unsubscribed counts, and a bounce or complaint suppresses that address automatically. With it off, campaigns still send but nothing reports back and no address is ever suppressed.
Why is event tracking off, and how do you turn it on?
Stacks tries to register the webhook on your provider when you save the key. For SendGrid that needs an API key with Mail Settings permission; a restricted key cannot create the webhook, so tracking stays off and the save explains why. Either save a key that has that permission, or set it up yourself: in SendGrid open Settings → Mail Settings → Event Webhook, paste the address shown on the provider card as the Post URL, select Delivered, Opened, Clicked, Bounced, Dropped, Spam Reports, Unsubscribed and Group Unsubscribes, turn on Signed Event Webhook, copy its Public Key, and paste that key into the provider card in Stacks. Events arriving without a valid signature are rejected, so the key is required either way. Brevo registers itself the same way; Resend signing secrets are created in its dashboard and pasted here.
Enable notifications
Use Enable email notifications for transactional messages, and Settings → Email Alerts to choose events. There is no separate legacy SendGrid-only setup required for these workspace messages. Platform login and registration mail have separate operator configuration.
Check your domain
Settings → Deliverability checks DNS. Use the actual records supplied by your provider. A passing check cannot guarantee inbox placement. Keep API keys and signing secrets private.
