Reply to your reviews with AI drafting
When a customer leaves feedback, a thoughtful reply goes a long way — but a blank text box at the end of a busy day doesn't. Stacks can write the first draft for you: click Draft with AI and you get a warm, on-brand response tuned to how the customer felt. You review it, tweak it, and send it yourself. Stacks never posts or sends anything automatically.
Before you start
- You'll need the Reviews module, which is on by default — every Stacks plan includes it.
- You need feedback to reply to. Feedback shows up under Reviews once a customer answers a review request with a rating and (optionally) a comment. Haven't sent any yet? Start with Request a review.
- You need permission to send and resolve reviews — admins, managers and team members have it. View-only users can read feedback but can't draft replies.
- AI drafting uses workspace credits. Free includes 50 one-time credits and AI Pro has a separate monthly pool. Review every draft; Stacks does not post it to Google for you.
- Optional but recommended: set your Business name in Reviews → Settings, so the draft speaks for the right business.
Step by step
- Open your feedback. In Stacks, go to Reviews and open Responses — the running list of the private feedback customers have left. (Your Reviews dashboard also shows the most recent feedback under Recent Private Feedback.)
- Open the feedback you want to reply to. Open a single piece of feedback to see the full comment, the customer's details, and the Reply to this customer panel.
- Click "Draft with AI." Stacks reads the sentiment (happy, okay or unhappy) and what the customer wrote, then writes a short first draft: a genuine thank-you for happy feedback, or a sincere apology and an offer to make it right when someone's unhappy. It greets the customer by first name when it knows it.
- Review and edit. The draft drops into an editable box — adjust the wording so it sounds like you. Not quite right? Click Regenerate for a fresh take (that uses another AI credit).
- Copy it and send it yourself. Click Copy to put the reply on your clipboard, then paste it into your email — or wherever you talk to that customer — and send it. Stacks writes the words; you stay in control of what actually goes out.
💡
Free and AI Pro credits. Reading feedback and marking it resolved are free. Each AI draft or regenerate uses one credit. Free starts with 50 one-time workspace credits; AI Pro has a separate 50-credit monthly pool. Returning to Free preserves its unused original credits and never refills them.
Good to know
- Nothing is sent automatically. Stacks only writes the draft — you always review, edit, copy, and send it yourself. That's a deliberate, permanent guardrail.
- Short and on-brand. Drafts run two to four sentences and stay warm and professional, so they read like a person, not a form letter.
- No overpromising. By design the AI won't invent details and won't promise refunds or discounts — if you want to offer something specific, you add it while editing.
- Only what it needs. The draft is built from your business name, the customer's first name, the sentiment, and their written feedback — nothing else about your account leaves the platform.
- Close the loop. For okay or unhappy feedback you can Mark as Resolved once you've followed up, so your team knows it's handled — and Re-open it if it flares back up.
Frequently asked
Does Stacks send the reply to the customer for me?
No. Stacks writes a draft and puts it on your clipboard when you click Copy. You send it yourself, through your own email or channel — nothing is ever posted or emailed automatically.
Is this for my Google reviews?
This drafts replies to the private feedback customers leave through your Stacks review requests, so you can follow up one-to-one. It isn't a tool for posting public replies on Google.
How many replies can I draft?
AI Pro includes 50 AI credits per calendar month, shared across every AI feature in Stacks. Each draft or regenerate uses one credit, and the credits reset on the 1st.
